I couldn't take some parts seriously like the costumes, the kitsch and Nicole Kidman's odd romantic heroine (why couldn't they have had her play Poison Ivy?). You could still see Bruce Wayne in Batman. He had the handsome veneer of the playboy which was necessary for Bruce Wayne yet when he turned into Batman, his demeanor would change to a more menacing cape crusader and it came off as more fluid. I had the opportunity to re-watch "Batman Forever" on Friday and I must admit, Val Kilmer wasn't as awful as I remembered. I know he and Joel Schumacher didn't get along and Joel Schumacher was venomous in his description of Val Kilmer in interviews, he wasn't shy about his distaste for the actor.Īt the time, I got to see "Batman Forever" in theaters, I was skeptical about Val Kilmer because I was fond of Michael Keaton's Batman and I couldn't see anyone else do justice to the Dark Knight. ![]() Latest Discussions The Super Mario Bros Movie Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves John Wick: Chapter 4 Renfield Keanu Reeves Tobey Maguire
